Arches: The Design Trend That Could Take Your Space To The Next Level

When it comes to sprucing up one’s space, no trend took the interior design by storm like the arches! Arches have been trending for centuries as architectural and structural elements. It is appeasing to know that people aside from Interior Designers are warming up to the idea of implementing the arch curves in their respective spaces. We hope by the time you are done reading this blog, you have an admiration for arches, the way we do.

Modern Arches can be used in various elements, such as doorways, windows, pantries, wall niches, and furniture. Curved walls always provide contrast from the usual rectilinear walls in all architectural structures hence making the space compelling- you can always do this when renovating or constructing, curves also make dull spaces appear more vibrant such as corridors or hallways, curves also define large spaces and add some character without cutting the connection between them an example is a living space and dining space.

How to add arches to your space:

Mirrors: The easiest way to add bigger arches to your space without too much hassle is by buying a mirror in the shape. It is a great way to frame the space and keep it fresh. Curved mirrors also add illusions to spaces making the space appear bigger.

Shelves: Another accessory you can add to the space independently and will bring the desired effect without any construction work. You can still use all the storage space, but have the added advantage of the design upgrade.

Lampshades: A simple way to break up the sharp lines in any room, lampshades come in different shapes and sizes, so grab yourself one that arches downwards! It will be an interesting and subtle way to incorporate the trend.

Accent wall: This is a bit easier to implement in an already established space, just pick a wall of interest and get a colour of paint that meets your needs. Something that beautifully contrasts the space would be good. If you’re up for the challenge, get to painting, after making a neat outline where you would like the arch to be. If not, hire a professional to do it for you. Your space will be transformed in a snap!

Entry ways: If you have a space that doesn’t need a door, like the way from the kitchen to the dining room, then you can transform the entryway into an arch. You will most likely need help with a professional, but this will make a noticeable upgrade and add a regal feel to your home.

Windows: This is also another permanent addition. You can have your window space built in an arch shape and install arched windows. They are a choice not everyone makes, but it is a stunning option. Just like these windows, they frame the room and allow in more light while making the space look so majestic.
