Interior Design Terms You Should Know!! (Part 1)

Like most people, you probably love interior design, have a couple of beautiful interior decor pictures saved on Pinterest and you follow a couple of interior design Instagram pages for their aesthetically pleasing home decor content.

Or you are looking to refurbish or design your home and you have no idea what your interior designer says half of the time.

Well, worry not because we have compiled four commonly used interior design terms that you should know.

Open Plan Concept:

This is a design that incorporates large open spaces with no wall separations.

For example, a space where there is no separation between the living room and dining area.

This space is popular in many households especially here in East Africa because it encourages better communication and a sense of community.

Feng Shui:

If you have followed interior design trends for the past couple of years, I am sure you have heard about Feng Shui by now.

Feng Shui is an ancient Chinese practice and it is basically about inviting positive energy into your home based off how you arrange your furniture, fittings and decor pieces to create balance with the natural environment.

These are ceilings that hang below the original ceiling of a room.
